Red Centre och Northern Territory (Australiens röda centrum) är ett ökenområde som omfattar Ayers Rock (Uluru), en 348 meter hög monolit, (den högsta i världen) som tillhör Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park och är ett av Australiens landmärken.
Där skiftar landskapet i olika röda färger beroende på tiden på dagen. I nationalparken finns också de vackra och underliga klippformationerna Kata-Tjuta och Mount Olga, med grottmålningar som gjorts av urinvånarna, och även den egendomliga Vindens dal.
Du kan besöka parkens kulturcentrum och ett konsthantverkscentrum kallat Maruku. Alice Springs är en liten stad man kan ha till utgångspunkt för att besöka Uluru och då kommer du förbi den storslagna kanjonen Kings Canyon, ett imponerande bergspass med 100 meter höga, lodräta, röda väggar, där du också kan lära känna den pittoreska Edens lustgård.
Längre i norr, i närheten av Darwin, ligger nationalparken Kakadu, som är upptagen på världsarvslistan, med urskog, vattenfall, sjöar och träsk där tusentals olika djurarter har sin hemvist.
