Buzios är en stad på Brasiliens Atlantkust, som ligger i delstaten Rio de Janeiro på en halvö omgiven av öar, med mer än tjugo badstränder, alla med sina speciella egenskaper, men alltid mycket vackra.
Byggnaderna är aldrig högre än två våningar, och de är för det mesta byggda i enkla material och trä. Huvudgatan är Rua das Pedras, och inom några få kvarter ligger nästan alla affärer, barer och restauranger, och dit koncentreras också nattlivet.
På grund av sitt geografiska läge kan Buzios erbjuda en mängd olika aktiviteter och sporter, sportdykning, simning, fotvandring, cykling med terrängcykel, fiske, golf, surfing, tennis, squash, rullskridskoåkning, ridsport, m.m.
Praia de Azeda är en av de vackraste stränderna i Brasilien, med vit sand, omgiven av en frodig vegetation, och lugnt, kristallklart vatten i glänsande turkosblått.
Det finns också en nudiststrand (Ojo de Buey) i änden av Brava-stranden, som är surfarnas favoritstrand. João Fernandes-stranden är mycket besökt av turister, och där kan man lyssna till musiken som kommer från de intilliggande barerna och restaurangerna. Praia da Ferradura är idealisk för barn och Praia de Geribá är speciell för surfing och vindsurfing.
