Iguazúfallen ligger på gränsen mellan två grannland, Argentina och Brasilien, i Iguazú nationalpark. Namnet betyder ”stort vatten” på guaranispråket.
Iguazúfloden rinner upp på den brasilianska sidan och bildar tillsammans med Paranáfloden ett system av vattenfall på gränsen mellan Brasilien och Argentina. Systemet har mer än 270 vattenfall som är 83 meter höga och cirka 4 kilometer breda.
Det gör att dessa vattenfall är några av de mest storslagna i världen. Iguazúfallen är 4 gånger större än Niagarafallen, och efter fallet beger sig floden Iguazú in i en ravin som är känd under namnet ”djävulsklyftan”. Då vattnet faller så häftigt, förvandlas det till ånga och bildar ett fint regn som, då solens strålar lyser genom det, skapar en underbart vacker regnbåge, en av de vackraste panoramabilderna man får se under hela turen.
