Montañas - Llanuras del Norte - Arenal är en vacker region i som ligger i Costa Rica, i bergskedjorna Guanacaste och Tilarán, med slätterna Guatuso, San Carlos, Sarapiquí och Chilamate, som går ända fram till gränsen till Nicaragua. Det viktigaste och mest lockande att se i området är vulkanen Arenal, som ligger i Alajuelaprovinsen. Den hade sitt sista stora utbrott 1968 men den fortsätter att släppa ut gaser och ångor tillsammans med en och annan explosion och ibland kan man höra kraftiga dunder.
Om du besöker Arenalvulkanen kan du njuta av det varma källorna i Tabacón som ligger i kanten av vulkanen. Landskapet är verkligen vackert. Det varma källvattnet kommer från floden Tabacón, som är omgiven av vackra tropiska trädgårdar. Vattnet i floden värms upp på naturlig väg genom vulkanens aktivitet och det har terapeutiska egenskaper tack vare sitt innehåll av flera mineraler, t.ex. svavel.
Landskapet i regionerna Montañas, Llanuras del Norte och Arenal är verkligen paradisiskt, med många olika skyddade områden, vackra sjöar och laguner, kristallklara floder, varma källor och imponerande vattenfall. En naturskönhet utan like väntar på dig!
