Luxor, som är en stad i södra Egypten, är administrativ huvudort i guvernoratet med samma namn. Det är det populäraste resmålet i Nildalen och den södra delen av detta exotiska land.
Luxor ligger där den antika staden Thebe låg och det bevarar därför otaliga ruiner av stort värde och mycket intressanta för turister. Det förtjänar sitt smeknamn ”Världens största museum” och tar emot tusentals turister varje år som kommer för att upptäcka alla dess helgade mysterier.
