Abruzzerna är en region i centrala Italien, vars kust är vänd mot Adriatiska havet.
Det är en bergig region, som har de högsta topparna i Apenninerna, Grand Sasso och bergsmassivet Maiella, och en smal kustslätt, många skyddade områden och nationalparker.
Abruzzerna omfattar fyra provinser: L’Aquila, Chieti, Pescara (med staden Pescara som administrativt centrum), och Teramo.
Sportinfrastrukturen är mycket modern. På vintern kan du bl.a. ägna dig åt skidåkning, alpinism och snowboard. På sommaren finns det en mängd andra aktiviteter man kan ägna sig åt. Man kan besöka de skyddade naturområdena, sjöarna Penne och Scanno, WWF:s oas, vitgranarna i Rosello, de svavelhaltiga källorna i Lavino, vackra dalar som genomkorsas av floder, och naturligtvis stränderna med fantastisk sand vid Adriatiska havet.
