Genua är administrativ centralort i provinsen Genua och även i Ligurienregionen, i Italien. Stadens hamn är den största och viktigaste i Italien och den näst viktigaste i Medelhavet efter Marseille.
Till dess mest populära sevärdheter hör Piazza di Ferrari med sin vackra fontän som ligger i stadens centrum. En annan mycket intressant sevärdhet är Christoffer Kolumbus födelsehem, där den berömda upptäckaren föddes år 1461. Vi rekommenderar även ett besök vid korsgången Chiostro di Sant’Andrea, stadsporten Porta Soprano (från 1115) och i San Lorenzo-katedralen, som byggdes på 1100-talet i gotisk stil.
