I norra Kambodja ligger provinsen Siem Riep och dess provinshuvudstad, som har samma namn. Denna del av landet är ett mycket viktigt turistcentrum eftersom det är en av de platser som ligger närmast de populära templen i Angkor.
Siem Riep är en plats som har vuxit mycket på senare tid och idag har det utmärkta bekvämligheter för turister. Ruinstaden Angkor är ett mycket attraktivt turistmål och en av de viktigaste parkerna i Sydöstasien. Där finns ruiner från det magnifika Khmer-imperiet, som fanns här för många hundra år sedan, och flera stora grönområden. Där finns templet Angkor Wat, ett av de mest imponerande, och det exotiska templet Bayton med skulpturerna som det är smyckat med, bl.a. cirka 216 ansikten i sten.
En annan attraktion i Siem Riep är sjön Tonle Sap, där man kan göra en båttur för att lära känna de flytande byarna i området.
