Istrienhalvön ligger vid Adriatiska havet, mellan Triestebukten och kustområdet vid Kvarner i Kroatien.
Tre länder delar på halvön: Kroatien (den största delen), Slovenien (den norra delen, med landets enda lilla kustremsa) och Italien (en liten del i söder). Istrien är dessutom den största kroatiska halvön och där finns vackra städer, bland andra Porec, som förklarats tillhöra världsarvet av UNESCO år 1997.
Vi rekommenderar ett besök på de vackra stränderna och vikarna i området. Amfiteatern i Pula är ett av de mest typiska monumenten i Istrien. Den byggdes under det första århundradet e.Kr. under kejsar Vespasianus regering. Vi råder dig också att du besöker nationalparken Brijuni och vinodlings- och olivodlingsrutterna. Det anordnas även ett flertal evenemang man inte bör missa, t.ex. filmfestivalen i Pula, filmfestivalen i Motovun och Bikers days m.fl.
