Provinsen Pinar de Río ligger på Kuba och den delas upp i fyra olika områden: halvön Guanahacabibes, bergskedjan Cordillera de Guaniguanico samt slätterna Llanura Norte och Llanura Sur. Bland de viktigaste attraktionerna i staden hittar man Guatequefesten, som bönderna brukar fira med en måltid då man äter gris stekt på spett, förutom en massa andra mycket goda regionala maträtter. Viñalesdalen, som har tagits upp på UNESCO:s världsarvslista, är en av de mest intressanta platserna i landet för sin unika naturskönhet.
