Staden Luxemburg är huvudstad i Storhertigdömet Luxemburg. Luxemburg var ursprungligen ett fort som användes som försvar och som sedan växte ut och blev stad. Om man går en rundtur i denna vackra stad kan man beundra dess rika arkitektoniska arv, som står i vacker kontrast till det omgivande naturlandskapet. Man kan urskilja två mycket olika delar av staden: ett ungt och dynamiskt centrum och den trevliga gamla stadskärnan, som är full med befästningsverk och underjordiska tunnlar (kasematter) och andra originella byggnader. Vi rekommenderar att man besöker fortet Rocher de Bock, en intressant muromgärdad plats, där Luxemburgs gamla försvarsverk strålar samman och här kan man dessutom få en otrolig utsikt över staden.
En annan plats vi råder dig att besöka är storhertigens palats, som har en vacker utsmyckning från den spanska renässansen och som för närvarande är storhertigens familjeresidens. I en av ändarna av palatset ligger katedralen Nôtre Dame, som är i gotiskt stil.
