Sabah är en delstat i Malaysia på ön Borneo. Huvudstaden heter Kota Kinabalu. I Sabah ligger Kinabalu, som med sina 4 175 meter ö.h. är det högsta berget i Malaysia och Sydöstasien.
Kota Kinabalu är en modern stad som är mycket gästfri och har ett otroligt och varierat naturlandskap: stränder med gyllengul sand, paradisiska öar, tropisk regnskog och vackra korallrev.
En av de viktigaste attraktionerna i denna trakt är Gaya Island, en vacker ö som är ett förstklassigt resmål, framför allt om man vill fotvandra, simma eller ägna sig åt andra vattensporter. Badstränderna är fantastiska och ön har dessutom en tätt växande tropisk regnskog. Området förklarades för skogsreservat år 1923.
Om du tycker om att lära dig något nytt har staden en anläggning, Sabah Museum, som byggdes 1985 och som omfattar ett museum, en etnisk-botanisk trädgård och ett zoo. Alldeles i närheten av detta museum ligger dessutom institutionerna Science and Technology Centre och Sabah Art.
Kota Kinabalu och Sabah är otroliga med sina natursköna platser och förvånansvärda landskap.
