Sarawak är en av de två malaysiska delstaterna på ön Borneo. Den ligger i det nordvästra hörnet av ön och det är landets största delstat. Dess administrativa huvudstad är Kuching.
Bland de viktigaste attraktionerna i området kan vi nämna templet Tua Pek Kong, som är det äldsta kinesiska templet i Sarawak. Du kan dessutom besöka den största basaren i staden, Main Bazaar, som är från 1864. Där kan du köpa alla typer av antikviteter och lokala konsthantverk. Ett annat imponerande monument i staden är moskén Kuching Divisional Mosque, som byggdes färdig år 1968 men började byggas ovanpå grunden till en gammal moské redan år 1852.
Du kan dessutom besöka Round Tower, ett torn som byggdes färdigt år 1886. Varför detta torn byggdes är en gåta, men på grund av sin struktur tror man att det byggdes för att tjäna som fort i nödsituationer. Nu har man en sagolik utsikt över staden från toppen av tornet.
