Hotell - Azorerna

Azorerna – Isla São Miguel. Azorerna är en grupp av nio öar mitt ute i Atlanten, som tillhör Portugal.

Isla São Miguel, även kallad Isla Verde för sina bördiga jordar och täta skogar, är den största.

Dess huvudstad är Ponta Delgada, med intressanta historiska monument såsom kyrkor och palats från 1500-talet.

I öns centrum ligger Sierra de Água de Pau. Kratrarna i vulkanerna Sete Cidades, Fogo och Furnas och några andra har utvecklats till bergssjöar med kristallklart vatten, en del med blått och en del med grönt vatten.

Besök Furnas-området, dess vackra sjö, dal och förtjusande by. Där finns en underbar botanisk trädgård med frodig vegetation, gejsrar, varma källor, en storartad golfbana och naturliga utsiktsplatser.

Byn Angra do Heroísmo finns med på världsarvslistan, men det finns andra, lika förtjusande byar man också kan besöka. Santa Graciosa med gamla gator och patricierhus, Horta med sin småbåtshamn och de gamla kyrkorna São Salvador, São Francisco och Nossa Senhora do Carmen.
