Kuststaden Almería är central huvudort i provinsen med samma namn och den ligger i den autonoma regionen Andalusien, Spanien. Staden är belägen vid Medelhavskusten och där rinner floden Andarax ut i havet.
Almerías kust är ett av de vackraste områdena i Spanien och vi rekommenderar ett besök i naturreservatet Cabo de Gata-Níjar, en park som har ett underbart vackert naturlandskap där man kan ägna sig åt olika aktiviteter som fotvandring, fiske eller helt enkelt bara vila på de orörda stränderna och kanske få se några av de olika fågelarter som tar sin tillflykt hit, t.ex. flamingo och stork.
Det finns olika strandområden på kusten vid Almería, i väster ligger badorterna Roquetas de Mar och Agua Dulce. För naturister finns Veraplayorna, som ligger i norr. Och mot väster ligger Almerimar, som dessutom har golfbanor och en yachthamn.
Vi rekommenderar också ett besök i den gamla stadskärnan i Almería, där fästningen Alcazaba ligger.
