Gerona (Girona på katalanska) är en spansk provins som ligger i den nordöstra delen av den autonoma regionen Katalonien. Provinshuvudstaden är staden Girona, i folkmun kallad de fyra flodernas stad, eftersom den genomkorsas av fyra floder: Ter, Güell, Galligants och Oñar. Till de viktigaste sevärdheterna i Girona hör La Força Vella, katedralen i gotisk och medeltida stil, som dessutom har en stor historisk skatt, ”Skapelsegobelängen”. Vi rekommenderar också ett besök i den romanska byggnaden där de arabiska baden från 1194 ligger. Det finns också flera olika museer, bland vilka vi kan nämna det arkeologiska museet Sant Pere de Galligants, konstmuseet Museo de Arte och Museo Capitular.
Och för dem som tycker om naturen finns det grönområden såsom naturreservatet Zona Volcánica de la Garrotxa, med många olika trädarter och vilda djur. Vi rekommenderar också ett besök i Parque Natural de Aigüamills de L’Empordà, ett naturreservat med ett underbart vackert landskap.
