Manga del Mar Menor hör till kommunerna Cartagena och San Javier i Murciaregionen i Spanien. La Manga bildades genom anhopningen av sand som förts dit av havets strömmar. Sanden stötte sedan på vulkaniska rester som hindrade den att förflytta sig och sanddynerna som bildades steg upp över havsytan och gav upphov till den landremsa vi idag känner som La Manga. La Manga ligger i ett kustområde som tack vare det generösa klimatet och det varma vattnet fått namnet Costa Cálida (den varma kusten). Denna vackra landtunga av sand genomkorsas av fyra passager där vattnet strömmar ut och in mellan Mar Menor och det öppna Medelhavet.
Playorna i området är ytterst rena, med kristallklart vatten och på många av dem vajar den blå flaggan som Europaunionen beviljar. Ett verkligt naturparadis.
Där finns dessutom många tillfällen till nöjen. Det är för närvarande ett av de viktigaste turistcentrumen vid Medelhavet och det finns massor av restauranger, hotell, barer, diskotek, affärer, golfbanor, kuranstalter och inte minst, vackra landskap.
