Den autonoma regionen La Rioja ligger i den norra delen av den Iberiska halvön. Den utgörs av en enda provins (La Rioja) men av flera kommuner. Den administrativa huvudorten är staden Logroño.
Bland de viktigaste sevärdheterna vill vi framhålla Riojamuseet, som är inhyst i Palacio de Espartero (ett palats från 1700-talet). Museet ställer ut målningar och skulpturer från olika tider och även diverse andra konstföremål. Vi rekommenderar även ett besök i katedralen Concatedral de Santa María de La Redonda (från 1500-talet), som visar upp sina imponerande torn, och San Bartolomé-kyrkan från 1200-talet.
En annan intressant sevärdhet i La Rioja är naturreservatet Sierra de Cebollera, ett av de områden som är bäst bevarade. I parken finns en mångfald av de djur- och växtarter som är typiska för regionen, framför allt ek, björk, bok, svarttall, lind, ask, m.fl. Och bland djuren kan man kanske få se räv, ekorre, utter och vildsvin.
