León, som ligger i nordvästra delen av den Iberiska halvön, är en spansk stad i provinsen med samma namn, där den är administrativ centralort.
Det är en stad full med historia som lockar många turister som kommer för att se de olika, intressanta monumenten och byggnaderna. Den viktigaste är Leóns katedral, ett viktigt tempel i gotisk stil, från 1200-talet, med en komplicerad utsmyckning. Ett annat speciellt viktigt byggnadsverk i staden är basilikan San Isidro, ett verkligt konstverk som representerar den romanska arkitekturen, målar- och skulpturkonsten. Den innehåller ett gravmonument, Panteón Real, som ibland kallas för den romanska konstens Sixtinska kapell för sin skönhet och betydenhet. För att göra en promenad genom de mest traditionella delarna av staden rekommenderar vi gatan Calle Ancha, en av de mest symboltyngda i León. Den går ut från Plaza de Santo Domingo, förbi olika affärer och butiker och slutar vid katedralen. För att lära känna den moderna sidan av staden måste man bege sig till Avenida de los Reyes Leoneses, där bland annat museerna MUSAC och EREN ligger. Att besöka León under påskveckan är också en magnifik upplevelse.
