Staden Palencia ligger vid stranden av floden Carrión i den spanska provinsen Palencia, som hör till den autonoma regionen Castilla y León.
En av de mest intressanta platserna vi rekommenderar är parken los Jardinillos, som har ett vackert vattenfall, ett duvslag och en skridskobana. I närheten av parken ligger Barockpalatset (1700-talet), Plaza Mayor (1600-talet), San Francisco-klostret (1200-talet), Parque del Salón, som har en vacker promenad, ett auditorium, vackra skulpturer och fontäner, och mitt emot denna park ligger kyrkan San Juan Bautista.
Vi rekommenderar även ett besök på Museo Arquelógico Provincial (arkeologiskt museum), Museo Catedralicio (kyrkomuseum) och det symboltyngda Cristo del Otero, ett verk av den berömde skulptören Victorio Macho. Skulpturen är 30 meter hög och därifrån har man en utmärkt utsikt över staden. Gör även gärna en tur till berget El Viejo, som erbjuder många olika möjligheter till fritidsaktiviteter, bland annat i reservatet Ciervos.
