Gloucester är en stad som ligger i sydvästra England nära gränsen till Wales.
Det ligger i en bergig trakt med Cotswoldkullarna, Deanskogen och bergskedjan Marvern Hills i omgivningarna.
Det mest utmärkande i Gloucester är det stora antalet gamla kyrkor. För övrigt har de flesta andra byggnader i staden moderniserats, såsom museet och skolan för konst och vetenskap, grevskapets fängelse och Whitefieldkyrkan, men det finns ändå en del som fortfarande bevarar sin gamla struktur. En av de viktigaste sevärdheterna i staden är St. Peter-klostret där kung Henrik II är begraven. Helt nyligen spelades en del scener i filmen Harry Potter in här.
