Kendal är en engelsk stad i Westmorland, som ligger i grevskapet Cumbria vid stranden av floden Kent.
Staden, som har ungefär 28 000 invånare, har många gallerier, två slott, två museer, ett flertal historiska byggnader och broar, utsökta restauranger, massor av barer, hotell av hög kvalitet och vackra utsikter.
Kendal anses ofta vara porten till sjödistriktet (Lake District), i närheten av sjöarna Windermere och Keswick. De övriga sjöarna, som också är mycket tjusiga att se och vandra vid, ligger på en eller två timmars bilavstånd från staden.
