Scottish Borders och Dumfries är två grevskap som gränsar till varandra i södra Skottland.
Det typiska för landskapet i denna del av Skottland är de höga kullarna som bevattnas av floden Tweed, som rinner från väst till öst tvärs igenom Scottish Borders. Denna flod och dess stränder är en utmärkt plats för fiske och för många andra typer av aktiviteter i naturen. Dumfries ligger vid en annan mycket vacker flod, Nith, en av landets längsta.
Här bodde en av Skottlands mest populära poeter, Robert Burns. Hans två hus är en turistattraktion som många önskar lära känna. Centret som bär hans namn ligger i en gammal vattenkvarn från 1700-talet. Det finns även en väderkvarn här, som hyser Dumfries museum och observatoriet Camera Obscura.
I Scottish Borders finns det mycket charmiga, traditionella byar med museer, gamla slott och kloster som kan berätta om denna regions historia och dess kulturarv.
